    This is very nice, even with the man-made post. Details looks great given the 2x, and the lighting and eye contact are excellent. I might darken the eye a bit as it looks a bit plastic as is. Orange breast and BG are perfect together.

    Hi Will, well done it getting the subject in a clean and sympathetic environment.

    Good detail overall, but agree, the eye does look odd as it doesn't reflect the rest of the black areas. The bright conditions have created the blacks to look more contrasty in their appearance and so areas get choked with lack of finer detail in parts, however I for one would not turn down an opportunity like this. Personally I would have ramped up the ISO for more SS ie 1/2500, no issue on IQ loss, but perhaps a tad to gain, but these birds are flighty.

    Hi Steve.....Improving all the time....Just about back to normality.....I'm away up to Isle of Mull next week, for a week.....a wee chalet...out in the wilderness.....a four hour trip booked for Lunga...alone amongst the Puffins.....taking the WA....you get real close....

    Will, always like your Wheatears!

    Although the light angle is a little back left, you handled it ok. The eye is a bit weird, almost a milky/membrane look.

    The manmade perch isn't the most desirable but the slight mossy effect and a great look at the subject is worthy of praise.
