I captured this image of a Sanderling probing the sand at Ft. Desoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. When I first arrived at the north beach I found a nice sandy patch to sit on. As I sat the Sanderling and a Ruddy Turnstone sauntered up sometimes to close to photograph. I had to remove the 1.4 Teleconverter to fit them in the frame. Love it Joe, good detail, sharp and the environment I find very appealing. For me, its the heavy cast of Blue, neutralising that, bring some saturation and depth into the sand, I think you have a winner. The eye being closed I don't care, it's in bright light and what do we do in bright light...?

Joe, the Saturation is best via a luminosity mask, it’s a balancing act I feel between Saturation as an adjustment where you can ‘target’ the colour, juxtapose to adding more depth in there too…

Killer detail on the bird and sand. My kinda shorebird frame. I agree with Steve's observation re: blue. I'm always looking for catchlights, so you could easily add one if you're open to it. Good move to close down to f/8 and preserve more DOF.

This was where my thinking was going, so perhaps too warm???? I also just cleaned up a few elements.
Hi Steve, thank you for editing and showing what you were thinking. I think your edit it too warm/yellow. When I captured this image it was just after sunrise but the beach was in shade because the sun had not risen above the trees on the edge of the beach. Thanks again, Steve.
