Dottie and I went to Ft. Desoto in Pinellas County, Florida, early this morning. We had a wonderful couple hours before the beach crowd arrived. Many shore birds there. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Great light and pose you managed here Joe! Love the raised foot and think ist adds to the image. I like the comp, but feel like it might be better if the bird was a tad more left, but maybe that's just me? Still very nice work!
Thanks everyone for viewing and commenting, much appreciated. Here is a repost using the suggestions offered for improving the image. I moved the bird a little further left and changed the crop to a 2x3 and added a catchlight in the eye.
All of you mentioned a low angle/low POV, that was not the case. I was standing with the monopod extended almost full height. When I arrived I saw a group of photographers photographing these birds sitting of laying on the beach. I tried that but there was a small mound cutting off the feet of the birds. I like feet, if possible I want the feet to show. So I got up off the sand and keep raising my viewpoint until the angle cleared the mound and the feet were showing. The depth of field with the 1.4 Teleconverter was shallow enough so the water background would still blur.

Great low perspective Joe - this one looks so much nicer than the ones I got with the full breeding colours. Raised foot is a nice touch, and the catchlight addition makes a surprisingly big difference for just a couple of pixels!
