not sure about the cropping here, I prefer the whole bird or more wings...looks like it has some motion blur....

Hi Will ... unusual crop but I kinda like it .
Color and Tones looking good ... maybe a tad strong , just matter of taste .
I do see some motion blur as well ...

Nice to see something different.
The crop works well enough for me - I like how it is solidly anchored to the top left corner of the frame. I like the curled feathers. I agree it is unconventional though and can be a tough sell, but it can be fun to experiment when we already have large numbers of files of certain species. Subtle motion blur noted as well.
I love the flight head shots like this. You will get a lot more of them with mirrorless.
