Had a wonderful week in Florida with Ann Pacheco and met up with Mike Poole at Fort DeSoto for a morning shoot. We decided to each post a reddish egret image on BPN as a way to ease back in to posting on BPN. I have not posted in months.
    Canon 1 DX3
    600mm and 1.4x
    ISO 1250 SS 1/2500 F 6.3
    Crop to 70% FF
This image was taken at Bunche Beach and not Fort DeSoto. The light was better than the day we shot with Mike.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
    Gail

wowsa, intense, lovely, rich colors with wonderful details. Love the POV, the fading horizon line and the breeding colors. i also like the dripping water of the bent foot and the details throughout the feet. IQ rocks, super job Gail!

Wow, thats some seriously intense light - never seen one lit up like that before. Great low POV - I'm guessing the waders paid for themselves here! My favourite foot position as well, and I always think trailing water droplets add a lot to a shot

What a wonderful way to ease back in. The light and breeding colors are superb, as are the POV and pose. Glad to see you back.

Unexpected strong light just smacks one in the face in the best way possible. Wonderful shot and good to have you back.

Lordy, Lordy, look what the cat dragged in... just teasing. Nice to have you back. Wonderful image, I echo the positive comments. Thank you for sharing, Gail.

Ooh la la, could not ask for much better. Pose, light, processing...everything is top notch! If anything I just wish I would have been there...I miss Ft. Desoto (and Florida in general).

Thanks for all the comments. A friend who lurks on BPN contatcted me to suggest that the color balance was off because the head was too orange. I revisited the image and noticed that my AWB setting was on cloudy.
I corrected the color balance and think this is a more accurate representation of the scene.

They both look good. The first looked believable as it could have been early sweet warm light (even if it was past that time in reality).
