    Jon:

Dramatic scene, interesting ritual. Whites nicely controlled, the water color plays well with the birds color palette.
A sliver more DOF on the left bird would be nice, but the slight head turn of that bird gets it back into the plane of focus. Not an easy think to capture!

    Cheers

Hi Jon ... glad to see you have captured the behavior you wanted to capture , hope you are looking better now .... regarding your facial expression .

Super behavior and framing is not my favorite , but it does work .
Overall colors looking good ... image is lacking sharpness , DOF and I would go 1 stop brighter as a starting point ( excluding the bright areas vis mask ) .
The darks and 3/4 quarter tones looking washed out .... IMHO .

Interesting to see the pixel structure when zooming into the image ? Was this underexposed ??

Andreas, I have more similar and will incorporate some of your suggestions. The image was underexposed 0.7, otherwise the whites would have been blown.
