Hi Daniel ... always fun to experiment .
A great example that you posted , albeit the second version is too OOTB for my taste .
I really like the first version on all counts , just wish the mountain in the BG was not there ... just kills the image for me .

Hi Dan, the image certain exudes fun and I think that is on both sides, from the photographer & the subject.
The crop works well, (perhaps a sliver off the foot????) and again, positioning the subject off to the right, while looking left, works and conveys thinking.
I agree with Andreas to a point, based on the thumbnail, perhaps the 'mountain' is too dominating, but as presented it's far less dominating and so I'm OK personally, but in an ideal world it would be nice not to have it there, but wildlife isn't always perfect.
The second one was worth shooting, but doesn't sadly grab me, just personal choice again.

Thanks guys! That second image was just for kicks and giggles - a bit of fun with slow shutter speeds

Fully understand your thoughts Daniel , and today cost nothing just space on card and HD
In the old analog days it was a different story
