    Default Great Crested Grebe

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Hi folks ...
Image captured at local town lake in late afternoon light , wished for the shadow of the tree wasn't there . But the Grebe did choose the place to pass by .

    Canon EOS R3
    EF 500 IS L + 2xTC
    HH

F 10 ; Iso 8000 ; 1/5000 sec ( a bit of an overkill for the Grebe ) I was just too slow to go lower with the shutter as I was actually waiting for BIF options

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 ; basically full frame as I had to level out the image and add some canvas

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous postings

    Cheers Andreas

Cool Grebe shot Andreas, the R3 is rocking with the high ISO & PP.

If you have it, then perhaps a tad more below and maybe a Curves Lights 2 adjustment just to pull a fraction more in the more higher/brighter whites, WDYT????

    Ooooh 2x, gets even better.

Thanks Steve ... yes the R3 is kinda ok . The more I use it .... we are becoming more friends , but does cost some effort to get this thing to set up . Still learning .
Sadly not more at the foot and the curve through lights 2 ( from the green channel ) is a good idea , but no RP needed .

    Thanks again Andreas

Yes, like the R5, the more you use it, the more you refine within the menu, R3 has more in parts, but I do like the idea now of AF ED within the AF Zone and customising those.

OK, on the added space and yes, no need for a RP. Just changed another setting from todays shoot, will see how the lens/custom buttons now work, Good/Bad move, will see.

Ahh professor, just an awesome canvas for me. I like the variable light in the BG and as usual perfect PP with wondrous feather detail TFS

That's a cracker Andreas. Love the pose, lighting, and detail here. We have them here, but can never seem to get close enough.

Nice frame Andreas! I like the pose and the head turn. The noise does show up some especially in the eye on my large monitor.

Thanks David , Jon , Paul and Kurt for your kind comments much appreciated .

@ Kurt - sorry can´t see noise on my large screen . I have not seen luminance noise that looks like one square next to the other one .... ... at least in my experience . But I am willing to learn .

    Chers Andreas

    Andreas:

Lovely bird, detail and lighting. So nice that I might consider cleaning up the tiny bits of debris on the bill.

    Cheers

    Andreas:

We all have our own sensibilities about processing, so I respect your decision on the debris. A lovely photo as is.
