Nothing outstanding, just a simple shot of a female Chaffinch.

Interesting for those of us that never encounter this species.
Really nice detail from beak tip back. Love the weathered old perch and overall complimentary tones.

Hi Steve ... superb details and colors rendered .
High IQ as expected , framing is good and the pose /head angle is right on the money .

Personally I do find the perch a bit large and dominant , but think no other option available . Love the BG with the variations and the lovely colors

Thanks Colin, but it's nothing you could not have achieved when you had the 1DX MK3, seriously it is a super camera, especially with the Firmware updates now.

Agree Andreas, winter colours worked well I think, just some thought put in about the BKG. Heading back to the Kingfisher & SH site Tuesday, fingers crossed, so hopefully have some new stuff at some point, but getting pressured by friends who have the Z9, but there will be the dual later this year, Canon vs Nikon...

Absolutely no pressure, just friendly banter between ourselves, just wished if I knew how quickly they got theirs, I would have ordered one for G, she's struggling, however it's two to one re Nikon, however it's hard to compare bodies R3 vs Z9.

To be honest, since the MK3/R5 I just love the clean files and the captures they deliver, but more on the way...

Nice BG color and pose from the subject. I agree with Andreas about the perch, but they land where they land. Still nice work!

Nice fall feel here with all the warm tones. I'm OK with most of the perch - just the oof back part of it I do not like as much. I love the foot resting on top. Excellent details!

    Dear Steve,

Beautiful frame of this Chaffinch, lovely detail, awesome colours (love the warmth). I quite like the shape of the perch too. Super PP work as usual.
Still waiting for my Z9 Demo which Nikon SA promised to deliver many months ago. So I am going to Kruger in May with my old gear...Won't you please organise me one, I am so tired of waiting

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
