... at least my impression , after realizing that this big male bear was just standing on a relatively small rock in the middle of the Kambalnaya River on Kamtchatka . He was just waiting for salmon to run along the shallow river .
It was very foggy , hence the low contrast BG and dull colors . I pushed the subject more than I would normally do .... still trying to keep the misty look & feel . AS the original was flat as a pancake in terms of tone and contrast .

Another beauty, I feel you have represented the conditions very well indeed. Having said that, I wonder if it would look a little more visually appealing if you selected the bear and add a little more contrast - just a little?

I love the atmosphere in this one, so whilst it may have been nicer to get more detail in the bear, it could easily look false against the misty background.

I would have preferred a slightly looser crop here given the conditions to really show off the environment but certainly a fun shot with the pose

Hi Andreas! I loved the title! And the pose on Little Rock with low angle works beautifully. Foggy conditions add mood to the image. Your PP work is superb.

I really like this, Andreas. Actually...I like it a lot! Big bear balancing on small ( wet and slippery ) rock in the middle of the river - pretty cool image and glad you managed to retain the atmosphere and foggy conditions while rendering some nice detail on the subject - congrats from me

Colours look so good on the bear and the 'grey' water adds so much to the look and feel of the scene. Perfect framing. Super techs and exposure. Just loving it, a great pleasure to view and to add my thoughts here - well done Boetie

    Kind regards,

I'm guessing you double [proceed the image Andreas?

Agree the crop is way too tight and I think PS may have offered a better result in cropping but... I think for once either more Clarity or Contrast in the bear, just for a bit more oomph.

AS the original was flat as a pancake in terms of tone and contrast .
That's how a file should look like.

i had to crop a bit as the shot was really off in terms of level
That's why you have a electronic level or grid in camera.
