    Default Typical Greenie hunting...

Visited the everglades on a clouded afternoon and spotted this green heron hunting on a hanging branch over the water. Other branches and mangrove roots everywhere but the plumage was close to perfect. This was the cleanest angle in without wading with alligators.

Thanks, as always for valued help with previous posts.

Always good to spot and photograph. The boxy crop works well for me. The bright oof BG branches, plus the one crossing the foot, are unfortunate...but understand you did not want to wade with the gators by moving...

I like the colours and details, I do not mind the branches though I do agree the one crossing the foot does detract slightly. Noise is well controlled. A small slice off the top would probably help concentration on the eye and bill.
