Another frame I would I never processed from a series I shot a few years ago. I decided to go with a vertical crop here. I hope it works well.
Taking some time off from being in the field (reluctantly for a few reasons) has given me time to find a few and clean up my old files.

Hi Kurt, wonderful timing, love the action captured. Beautiful wing position, really like all the spray. Thank you for sharing.

Yeah Kurt .. just awesome this image !!!
Very very nicely done , cool capture .
I do just see two tweaks , that I would try to make : reducing the blues and HL in the subject ....

Great work out in the bush , love it

From where I sit, this is spectacular. The bright whites on both legs look a bit problematic. Is the fish a carp? Is the fish native?

Excellent, lovely contrasty BG .Sharp.The blues I noticed because Ive had the same trouble with Ospreys which I thought was the reflections from the blue of the sea. Both behind the Beak and on some of the whites.Artie suggested using the red slider but you probably know all that.
Like the way the B/G flows all the way through from the soft reds and dark patches past the bird to the greens and then to the blue. The tail of the fish tops it off.

Fantastic really impressive, I agree regarding the extreme highlights and darks, the blue in the plumage is an easy fix, congratulations this is exceptional.

Kurt, I agree, I think this is a spectacular capture. I can understand that this frame may have been difficult to tame from bright whites or the slight blue cast, but I am really interested in your first sentence. I am still trying to learn the limits of my own processing, and the thinking behind your decision to process or not would help me. In your first sentence, did you mean to say that “normally you wouldn’t even have processed this frame”? If so, why? Again thanks for the assistance, and again it’s a lovely frame.

Such a striking image. 10/10 on action, pose, behavior, and composition. Others have noted relatively minor technical issues re: blue cast and hot highlights, which I agree with. You must have crapped you pants in the moment!

spectacular shot with a lot of drama, action and details, whole fish puts it on the top. agree with reducing highlights on the feet and contrast overall but already a winner in my book
