This image was created on 19 February 2022, the scouting day for the Homer/Kachemak Bay Bald Eagle IPT. I used the hand held Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II lens with the Sony FE 1.4x Teleconverter (at 195mm) and The One, the Sony Alpha 1 Mirrorless Digital Camera.. The exposure was determined via Zebras: ISO 400. 1/4000 second at f/4 (wide open). AWB at 11:02:07am on then sunny morning. a somewhat foggy afternoon.
Tracking: Zone AF/C with Bird-Eye/Face Detection performed perfectly.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with BPN's Kevin Hice. On a very windy Friday morning Kevin created 11,320 R5 raw files in less than 2 1/2 hours!

As for the image, all comments are welcome and appreciated; don't by shy :)

A striking image Artie. Love the contrast with the sky and the hint of fog breaking up the blue.
There does appear to be a sharpening halo. How much of a crop?

    Artie:

Excellent, dramatic pose, complemented by the framing. Great eye contact.

I do see a very fine rim effect along the leading edge of the wing, as mentioned by Colin.

Wish I could get that close to eagles!

    Cheers

Super shot Artie, there does not appear to be an embedded sRGB profile, I would be inclined to pull the highlights down a little, I think more detail is revealed.

Love the pose and head angle! Agree with other commented about the halo. My only additional comment would be I wish it was placed a little higher in the frame. It feels too centered to me.
