    Default Black-necked Swan

Another one from Chile and arguably the most appropriately-named bird on Earth!

I had to belly-crawl across 40 yards of stone beach to get this frame.
My elbows ached for two days, but I think it was worth it.

Yepper, I'd belly crawl for a mile for this beauty in this light. The low POV, the light, the water drops... All perfection, with the one drop icing on the cake. TFS

Hi Dorian .. this is a very nice subject in oh so sweet light .
The droplet is the icing on the cake , IMHO.
Tones and color are very nice , maybe you can get more details showing up in the whites of the plumage ???!!!

Fabulous shot, love the light, pose, droplet and low POV with the small bow wave.
It would be good if you can draw a bit more from the strong white areas.

Hi Dorian, crawling around on the ground again. I like the image, especially the drop of water. Difficult exposure with the blacks and whites. There are some of these swans on a lake in Lakeland, Florida, but I know not the same as photographing one in the wilds of Chile. Neat image, thank you for sharing.

That drop! That and the thin lines in the water make it for me...not that the subject is not beautiful too. You mean they couldn't have named it the Tangarine-lored or Snow-browed Swan or something?

Dorian, a fine capture for all the reasons mentioned.

For me, the drop is just extra special, not to mention a never before seen species for me.

    Great job.
