Hi folks ... just a quick one from the day before yesterday .
This female decided to land relatively close to me .... still far out though ... and the I underexposed it 1,5 stops by mistake , so the image to start with was not ideal .
    But I gave it a shot .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

    Hello Andreas,

Looks good to me, a fun image, good techs, love the splash. Plenty of detail where it matters. Subject well placed within the frame and head angle is great.

IQ not bad at all for such a heavy crop. Nicely processed too. Happy too see you are enjoying the R3, I am still waiting to test the Z9 ( no demo available yet...).

Enjoyed viewing, thank you so much for sharing!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Action looks great, particularly the splash, and it looks like you salvaged the underexposure nicely. Would like a bit more head turn, but that's pretty minor.
Could see a tighter crop since there's a lot of empty/gray space, but you might not have the pixels for it.

My biggest issue -- and it's nothing you did wrong -- is the flat light. Trees are green in any light, but we really need direct sun to get decent color on water.
That's why I don't bother with waterbirds on cloudy days; the frames just don't crack with gray water.

Well Dorian ... I agree with you about the nice sunny weather , and actually this was not a pure grey day ... the action just happened when the sun was behind some clouds and the blues of the choppy water is reflection of the partly blue sky . Funny enough , I do remember some recent postings of yours from Chile where you shot waterbirds on cloudy day with gray water .... well well . Can happen ... hey ... or you might have removed the color by accident

Nice landing pose you got here, with fun splashing to add drama. Well composed. Am I seeing some repeating patterns bottom left?

Thanks Daniel ... you are correct , I forgot to mention a canvas extension at the bottom . Sorry for that ...

    Cheers Andreas
