This juvenile sat in the half light for far too long but a lone car finally turned up on this bush road about 3 minute too early for the sun to appear but pushed it off this old dead Gium tree . These birds are not rare but in the southern parts of this country recently beset by drought but now relieved , have taken a couple of years to come back. I am about a stop under exposed but I like keep high the shutter speed on these birds .So I hope it gets a pass.

Great pose. Those eyes suck us right in! I think the detail has held up pretty well, but I'm curious if you can crop in tighter without it falling apart. Right now there is a ton of empty space left an above. If the sky had some nice clouds, the wide crop might work, but the composition feels quite haphazard as presented.
Thanks Andreas .De noise which I think I used softens them a bit if you are slightly under-ex p . Dorian one day I will get he clouds and the light but in the summer down here you have be lucky. This is the first youngster I have got close to so Im hoping she'll stick around .Serves me right for
living in the driest state in the driest country on earth. Many a cloudless day.
Another option to explore would be to add back at right (if you have it), and crop at left. Great-looking bird with a super nice pose and appealing down-the-barrel stare. Yes to some apparent softness, but very engaging image nonetheless.
