    Image captured at a local pond. I did a little monkeying around to tidy up the upper background, image is cropped.

    Lovely light and color on this merganser Jon! Looks like it could use a little CW rotation to my eyes.

    Lighting and setting make for a dramatic image, even if the IQ is lacking a bit. I assume you went with a wide crop because the detail on the bird doesn't hold up with a closer view? The contrast makes this wider view work though. And yes to CW rotation.
