    Default Horse anyone?

Here is one from my first attempt to photograph horses.

We (the owner and I) were in experiment mode, thus the interesting decision to shoot them on an artificial backdrop. I don't normally go for blocked up shadows, but I think they add a bit of drama.

The owner likes the results, which is all that counts I suppose.

Horses are so beautiful and my all time favorite. Gorgeous image Jim but I have to agree with Alfred on the natural BG. Excellent work though it is just personal preference. Keep them coming.Jim !!!!!

Beautiful horse, you did great with the tones on that black coat! And I don't mind the blocked blacks at all. I must be a rare one, as I like animal portraits against artificial backgrounds and have done some of my dogs and cats and birds that way.

Thanks everyone. We were pretty much experimenting. I also worked up a couple on more earth toned BGs, but the owner preferred this one.
