Hopefully I have addressed the blues in this one. The image is cropped and I tidied up the log.

Love the position of the wings on this great colors along with a great perch. Maybe just a little soft in front of the eye. TFS

Great set up. Agree that the eye looks a little soft.

Each frames gets stronger Jon and the pose has a Nuthatch look/feel to it, was it defending itself here?

    Sadly for me...

    - The eye/beak isn't critically sharp
    - Ditto the orange plumage around the area has no real texture
    - I would loose more at the foot, I find it rather dominating
    - Did you clone an area out on the moss, if you look vertically down from the eye
    - There are still some blue colourations....

If the above had got ticks, I think this would be a super image Jon, the BKG is great and sympathetic to the overall colour palette.

Sadly I have to agree with the shortcomings already mentioned by the others .

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated, I agree almost there but not quite. I was pretty happy with it. The moss quite possibly some repair here and there due to the birds walking over it. Hopefully some Jay shots to follow tomorrow.

Yeah, I agree you could lose a bit off the bottom. I also see the cloning artifact below the face/hole in the wood. Eye/beak are so, so close to being in perfect focus.
