    Avian Greater Yellow-Finch (Chile)

Been a crazy few weeks - and it's getting worse!

Jan 13-16 Pet-sitting in Henderson NV
Jan 16-26 Pet-sitting in Prescott, AZ
Jan 27 - Feb 3 Crashed with friend in Albuquerque, NM
Feb 4 - 10 Led winter birding tour in MN
Feb 11-13 Albuquerque, NM (went to Bosque today - it sucked)
    Feb 14-16 Denver, CO
Feb 17 - 21 Boston, MA to lead another winter birding tour
Feb 22 - Mar 5 Pet-sitting in Denver and Colorado Springs

I'm still getting caught up with older stuff, so here's another one from Chile. It's a rather heavy
crop of a not-so-striking species, but I like the simplicity and how the colors on the rock match
those in the background. Plus, it's a bird most here are unlikely to ever see. So there's that....

Hi Dorian, I have to agree with you and your own critique.

Both the heavy crop and sharpening has created a bit of a crunch look & feel and fine detail the R5 captures is a bit lost. Killer backdrop and I like the simplicity of using the stone as the perch. To me I get the impression it was shot in bright conditions based on the techs, but it's a little dark overall, black's/contrast a bit too heavy too and to my eye there is a redness to the colours and so the richness its a bit muddy. Easy to correct if I'm right, but you were there so, just my take. Crop works and I like the diagonal of the stone, adds some interest.
