    Default Goose fight ...

Hi folks ... was 50/50 on posting this , just for technical reason / shortcoming of IQ .
Some factors came together to give me a less IQ , really dull grey day and a roughly 50 % crop ... but then I thought , well why not as the action is simply gorgeous in my eyes .
Went to the lake ... just to try BIF in bad light , just to see if my changed AF settings do work . Did some gull shots and some normal non BIF stuff .... just to not become bored .
After some two hours I was just ready to go .. lens hood already off . Then the three couples of Egyptian Goose started to fight over territory around the lake .... finally they came close and could get a couple of flight shots .

Tried my best to create something decent ...

    Canon EOS R3
    EF 200 - 400 IS L at 560 mm
    HH

    F 5,6 ; Iso 10.000 ; 1/3200 sec ; man exp

Processed with C1 and PSCC 2022 ; cropped to 50 % of FF . Shot in landscape format .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Nice capture Andreas showing some interaction. Nice with the water droplets and open wings with movement. Too bad bird on top doesn't have the wings away from the eye, head more happens. Looks well processed with the gray day and high ISO TFS.

In a perfect world the wing position of the top bird would be different, but the action totally makes up for it! Love the open bill and tongue of the bottom bird. Nice work!

Looks pretty good Andreas, the eyes are well focused and the colours pretty good, I don't mind the wing positions they illustrate the chaos perfectly.

Yeah, the action overcomes the flat light. The left bird peeking out from beneath the wing is amazing. You can feel the bird's fear as the other one clamps down on his foot. Certainly a very unique image. Two bird frames are tough, so you did really well with this one.

Certainly different Andreas and I would echo some of the Dorian's descriptive here. Flat light I think has certainly helped the lighter tones for sure.

Thanks a bunch folks , for your kind comments .... wasn´t expecting that . As i think IQ is a bit suffering .....

If there would have been " nice weather " at the time of capture it would have been a exposure disaster , for sure .... so sometimes even flat light might help to create something decent .

    Cheers Andreas
