Still haven't been back out to shoot since COVID. Hoping to get out to shoot this week. Here's one from a couple months ago I never posted.

Hi Kurt....I love the flight pose and the BG looks good....I just feel here that the bird needs to be more 'white'....an extra boost to make it stand out more....

Love the bird angling slightly toward us with the head on straight. The brightest WHITEs are 237 across the board and look pretty white to me.

Hi Kurt, nice flight shot, although in an ideal world having some more water trail I think would have elevated the image.

If you remove the cast within the whites and add some more exposure I think it helps overall and the whites become cleaner and better defined. The OP is concealing some gorgeous detail and tone and again, like the previous posting, applying some more localised sharpening brings home the potential of the raw.

Is this FF or a crop?

I hope the attached illustrates my suggestions.

Hi Kurt a pretty neat BIF shot !!!
Looks almost perfect to me .
Really love the overall design and the heron popping from the darker BG .
Good points raised by Steve and the RP is taking this up a notch , IMHO.
