    Default Great Crested Grebe

    Attached Images Attached Images

Hi folks on a quick shooting this afternoon just got this Grebe ... sky cleared up for a short time window .
So I had a couple of options to photograph some birds at local lake .

    Canon EOS R3
    EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
    HH

    F 6,3 ; Iso 800 ; 1/3200 sec ( hoping for BIF )

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 ; cropped for comp

Changed a few AF settings after some more info from a different source ... will see how they work after some more shooting sessions

Thanx for watching and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Detail in the plumage is really superb - colours spot - on I really like it.

Well captured Andreas.....Great pose and you managed lovely detail on the bird, colours are perfect...Well done....Just wondering if it needs a slight CW rotation.

Very nice Andreas, super clean with lovely natural colours. Exposure looks good and I'm glad the head didn't cast a strong shadow on the wing, with the light coming from the right??? The low POV really makes it!

Just a thought, but I might try darkening the FG a little, creating a bit more layering, as light/contrast dissipates as it goes into the distance...

Thanks Jon , Will and Steve for your kind comments . Much appreciated .

@ Will ... not sure about the CW rotation , as I already took the wing tips and leveled those out .

@ Steve - the FG is already darkened .... I will try one more more round . Nothing specially done to the shadow created by the head

    Cheers Andreas

Wonderful pose, love the low POV. I envy you young guys that can flop on the ground so easily, those were the days. Colors and post processing look spot on. Thank you for sharing, Andreas.

Colours and sharpening are perfect. Good wing pose too. This would look great as a pano with up to half the lower space cropped away.

I really like the pose, processing looks great! I do wish it had a touch less FG though and it looks like it might need a tiny bit of a CW rotation. I like the pano crop suggestion. Nice work!

Thanx folks , for your kind comments .

Regarding the " Pano suggestion " ... I am not sure about that , as it is already in pano format . My idea was to have more FG , rather than a central placement of the subject .
But I will think about moving the subject more central .

    Thanx again , Andreas

Agree that this is a beauty and that a pano crop from below after a bit of CW rotation would elevate the image.

PS: more of a pano with 1/2 the bottom gone as Dan suggested.
