Hi Andreas, Kamtchatka is probably the only place now where you can see these awesome subjects, perhaps even Katmai may not deliver now. Sadly just turned down a tour out there for this year.

PP looks good, just being ultra picky, a few frames on with that paw raised and trailling water would have been oh so cool. Fortunate that the BKG is non descriptive so the bear has nice standout.

Thanks Steve ... I just loved to stay there , it was gorgeous !!!!
No idea about Katmai ..... but I think Far East Russia is way more adventurous. Just the helicopter trips with these old Russian army helicopters are an adventure on its own . All is very basic there .... but people are soooo nice .
Sooner or later I will go again .... if the Italian guy ( who organized the trip ) is offering the trips .

Why have you turned down a tour to Katmai ???

Thanx Mr Picky ... yeah it would be nicer to have the paw lifted . Next time with the R3 and 30 fps .... might work better .

    Cheers Andreas

Andreas, detail is great here and those textures in the fur of the bear are to die for. Feels like I could touch this fellow. Love the pose with raised foot and adding some 'space' around helps tremendously. I like it very much Boetie, well shot great techs and nicely processed.

    Kind regards,

    Love those textures, Boetie.
Hope you did not sell this 1 DX, it gave you some awesome images of great quality.

Thanks Gabriela .... I actually never sold ONE of my 1D series cameras , they are all here from the first 1D right to 1Dx MK III .

But meanwhile I think , after using more the R3 over the last weeks , DSLR is more and more dying .... but I will keep mine . Just to touch them from time to time and let them rattle like **** .

Still have two 35 mm SLR .... of the 1 series . I could name my shelf a small Canon museum .
