Default Surfacing from a cool dip

Adult Polar bear coming out onto the pack ice after a quick swim. Just needed the RH paw to be visible, but then it would have changed the whole body posture.

Hi Steve -- Another beauty of an image. Liked the framing with subject small in the frame and trailing water from its body with freezer moment while crossing over from iced surface to another adds to the scene. OQ as usual top notch.

I also liked the fact that you managed to avoid its head of any intersection from the bkg ice.

    Nicely done. TFS !

I agree a super quality image, it looks excellent. if I could wish for anything different it would be a slight head turn to the camera..... and yes maybe the paw but I think if it were mine I would accept it as presented!!

Thanks guys, apart from the paw as I said, a bit more below would be good IMHO, no excuses, but nice to have shot wider to get more of the habit in.

We were incredibly lucky on the trip, 24 bears (27 in total, three in the distance), those folk who knew, Loi, by chance I bumped into him on the day we both sailed on different ships, he saw, I think less than ten, so it is, the luck of the draw. In addition, you try looking for a white object in a white environment.

Hi Steve ... high quality output as always !!!
Colors looking as good as they can be , IMHO .
No nits from my side , would take it as is .... maybe because I only have very few in my archive . I was on a trip with not even ten sightings and all bears have been far away .... been not a lucky dude like yourself .
Nice to see the trailing water .

Good solid capture , TFS Andreas

    Good evening Steve,

Another beauty of a polar bear and glad to see you included so much of the environment too. Colours are superb and there's great detail in the subject's coat.

Pose is really nice. As you already said a bit more at the bottom would not hurt... but I am happy with the frame as is.

Superb PP work as expected, great IQ. As always, a pleasure to view

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Wow, I like it Steve. The water drippimg from its fur, the front right raised paw:)Beautiful detail in the fur and the exposure is spot on. For my taste, it doesnt need more space at the bottom, but thats a subjective issue.
