    Default Roseate Spoonbill

I had to work on this one a bit, the light was dark, overcast, showers. Mostly a grab shot, I caught them landing in my peripheral vision, turned and captured a burst as the bird landed. Image captured along Blackpoint Wildlife Drive, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt Island, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2022 and Neat Image for noise reduction
Cropped for composition and presentation and to eliminate other birds

Nice landing pose with unfortunately boring light. I am guessing that a bird was removed from the LRC as there is some tell-tale stuff going on there.

Hi Artie, thank you for viewing and commenting. Yup, lower right hand corner another spoonbill. I tried, almost impossible to match up the ripples but I have not given up yet.

My comments echo Artie on this one. But I also wish the bird was a bit more to the right in the frame. Still nice pose you managed to get!

I like it, I would be tempted to give the Spoonbill a bit of a boost, much in the same way it was suggested to me with a Whooper swan a short while ago. Regarding the water I appreciate it is difficult but maybe content aware would help there.

Hi Joe, a tad more above would be nice and a small RGB Curves with a Mode selection adds a nice pop to the subject, but as Artie pointed out, the manipulation of the water is a killer sadly. Even with the raw and various selections and a small amount then of Gaussian Blur, it would be noticeable, so either leave the subject in, or discount the image. However... without seeing the element that needs to be removed, it might be possible Joe, here you just didn't execute it well sadly.

Jon, try it on the JPEG... there might be other ways.., however you need to see the original I feel.

Hi Steve, I tried every way I know, fill with content aware, patch trying to find a area that would match, spot removal with content aware, etc.. Just too hard a pattern to match, the ripples are so difficult. The object I tried to remove was another out of focus spoonbill with the head and neck cut off by the edge of the frame. Not disappointed to delete, the light at that time was terrible. Thanks for viewing and commenting, much appreciated.

I tried with the OP, but not great, plus it's on the laptop, better, but not ideal...

Hi Joe ... nicely captured landing pose .
The flat light helped to control the overall exposure and the contrast is not too high , resulting I good details across the tonal range .
I would try to place the subject more to the RHS as viewed ...
