    Default Wattled Crane from Bots

Hi folks ... went back to 2018 in my folders .
Image of this Crane captured in the Khwai concession of Botswana .... as most of the times when I travel , birds are just a side product during the game drives .
So my friend and I came across this subject and took a couple of frames .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
    bean bag

    F 7,1 ; Iso 1000 ; 1/2500 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 , slightly cropped and little garden work all over the frame . With hindsight I would have wished for a better posing of the crane ... but they have been somewhat elusive , so I have to take what I can get .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread

    Cheers Andreas

Gorgeous Andreas, nicely framed and you achieved some superb detail in the bird, especially in the whites. Agree, elusive and hard to get close to, so you did well in achieving what you did.

Agree with Steve's positives. Whenever I see shots like this where the feet are in the grass I always think it would be nice to see them, but that's only a nit pic here.

I think you should photograph more side products Andreas, this is excellent.

Loverly bird. The dead grasses by the long feathers at the bottom of the bird and the line marking the vegetation change that goes through the bird's head are both distracting.

Great exposure and detail in this image! I am not bothered much by the line break in the BG but ideally if it was above or further below the head it would make it better. Still very nice work!

    Andreas, what a gorgeous species!

You processed this very well (what's new) and the water droplets add a lot of interest.

Really like the view in environment. As a very minor nit, I find the shoreline going through the head just a bit unfortunate but the rest is on point! TFS

Thanks Brian ... glad you like this elegant Crane .

I am more than ok with the minor nit ... as the water line is not disturbing me at all . As it is not really jumping at me .... might jump at others , but I can live with that

    Cheers Andreas
