I've posted Jana's in flight previously, but this is my latest photo. Basic adjustments in ACR and PS. 16x9 crop works well here I think. Hope you like it.

Hi Paul, I like the image, very interesting bird. My first thought looking at the image was that the feathers appeared a little smooth. Was this underexposed, with having to reduce noise? My eyes keep going back to the spurs on the legs, never seen anything on a bird like that. The 16x9 works well, thank you for sharing.

Super capture, I sense what Jo refers to, the image looks a little roughly treated for want of a better explanation, I think there is a super image there but a little TLC in processing would elevate it.

Thank you Joseph and Jonathan. This was a fairly large crop, and I think I used too much n/r. I had another go but didn't like the final result even though there was more detail in the feathers. Cheers.

You did well with a brighter backdrop here Paul, but yes, the amount of NR has smoothed out some of the detail which is unfortunate. I would loose about half the space above and go far more pillar box.

Yeah, if you back off the NR a bit you'll get a bit more detail. The bird does jump off that BG, and I appreciate the view of the hella long toes. Elongated flight pose does make for a difficult crop though!
