I waited for ages for this Cormorant to give me a slight head turn towards me. However, eventually it decided to look straight at me. basic adjustments in ACR and PS. 4x5 crop for composition which i think works well here. Cheers.

    Hi Paul,

This is a very engaging image to me. The gaze of the emerald eyes is surreal! With the dark green background this gives an eerie feeling. A very unique frame indeed!

Hi Sharif. Thank you so much for the kind words/feedback. You have some beautiful images on your flickr page.

I know how to add a hyperelink in a reply to a post, but how did you add your flickr link that shows below that line below your post?

Love those eyes in this image Paul! Great head turn and I agree about the 4x5 crop, it shows well.

Wow, a really pretty image, Paul. It has a very painterly quality to it with the diffuse BG. Exposure and detail look great, and I think the fact the we get both eyes help to minimize the shadowed and retract neck.
I could see a version with a little of the top and some off the left. The upper left portion of the frame feels a bit vacuous as presented. But otherwise a really nice frame!

A fun image. I am glad the whole bill is "inside" the dark neck. Beautiful perch, neat BG.

Hi Paul, a really interesting image. I love the eyes and expression on the bird. Good perch, post processing and detail. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much Dorian,Danie & Joseph...really appreciate the feedback as always.
Dorian: The neck shadow was a concern to me too, but perhaps "saved" by the eyes as you say.

Very nice indeed Paul I like as presented, just a suggestion for you to consider - maybe tone down the log so it is not so obvious?
