    Default Long-billed Dowitcher

    Hi all,

I took this picture on a late afternoon last fall. I was trying to get some dowitchers in flight. I got this one as it flew in to land near where I was positioned. Unfortunately a flock of white pelicans also moved into my line of sight (the white blobs in the middle of the frame).

I have removed a stick from the LLC. Processed with C1 pro 2021 and PS CC. NR and sharpening in Topaz. Cropped and rotated for presentation.

Good clean image, my only reservation is the pale areas under the wings..... it could be an easy fix.

Very nice to get one in a landing pose Sharif. They usually come in pretty quick! I love the detail and think the processing looks good to my eye. My tiniest nit is I wish it was a little bit higher in the frame...just a smidge. Not sure if you have room or not though. Nice work!

Very nice image Sharif. I'm fine with the light areas under the wings. Love that pose...natural ballet dancer!

Ah those pesky pelicans eh! Very angelic pose. The mud on the feet and legs let us know t has been foraging on mudflats. I agree with Kurt in regards to comp suggestion.

Hi Sharif super cool shot with the incoming pose ....
All works for me .... love the muddy " Wellingtons " that the bird is wearing on the feet . I do not mind the Pelicans ....
Just wish the head would be sharper .... at least here on my screen .

I am enjoying your images ... TFS Andreas

There are not many flight shots of this species and this is quite a good one. I especially love the detail on the bird's left underwing.
