Hi folks thought I post a rather " different " image of the Tufted Duck , instead of a straight forward classic pose .

    Canon EOS R3
    EF 500 IS L II + 2x TC
    HH

    F 10 ; Iso 5000 ; 1/3200 sec ( trying to be ready for potential flight shots )

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 ; cropped to 65 % of FF

Thanks for watching and commenting to my latest postings .

    Cheers Andreas

This isn't a pose I've ever sought, but I think the yellow eye and the direct stare make this image work. Feather detail on the perfectly-lit face looks great, especially given the 2X.

I do think the image needs some CW rotation to level the waterline and rings.

Also, if you were ready/trying for flight, why were you at f/10 when f/8 was available?

Thanks Dorian , easy answer ... if light allows I stop down the lens . And I am not afraid , like you , to push the ISO .
I know there are folks who think Iso 5000 is high , well for me it is not .... I just lean back and relax with those iso values . As long as the exposure is right .

Btw agree with you about the CW rotation

Hi Andreas, I think the duck really looks good. Nice rich colors and the feather detail in nice. I like the pose. Thank you for sharing.
