    Default Flicker on the Fly

    Hi All,

Haven't been around but thought to pop in and see what wonderful stuff you guys (and gals) are doing. Mostly been shooting Scrubs, Flickers and Magpies here in N Cal myself. Here's a recent grab.
Happy to say I finally got around to tossing up my own site. Still working on the organization and uploads but here ya go if you care to take a gander...

Anyhow, back to "Meet the Flicker"...

Hi Jay, this is a fantastic flight shot. Sharp on the face and excellent downstroke pose shows the so called red shafts. I also like the visible white rump patch. That's the feature I usually use to quickly identify flying woodpeckers in my area. White rump patch = Flicker, white wing patch = Acorn Woodpecker.

Hi Jay ... your images becoming better in terms of IQ , at least IMHO.

A well executed flight shot , has some sort of WOW . Looks good all around and love the dirty bill .... hope that nobody is having the idea to ask for a clean up .
A pleasure to look at .

This guy has been digging for ants!! Great pose, and sharp. Full downward wing stroke is ideal, and we get a great look at the red shafted feathers. Good stuff man!

This is fantastic. Probably the best IQ you've posted. My only issue is the light blog behind the bird, but that is so, so minor in the grand scheme. This is a real show stopper.

super frame Joel, nailed it here! the bright spot behind him was a bit unfortunate but it doesn't distract from this great image IMO
