Looks good, Paul, pretty little bird. The grub, vegetation on the perch and the pure background enhance the image. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Paul ... lovely image overall with mealworm as a bonus in the beak .
Just the eye contact could have been better ...
Just for the sake of color interest , does the birds feathers carry that much blue in real life ??

Thanks so much Joseph and Andreas.
Andreas: I'm fine with the eye, as it's looking at the meal. Field guides describe the head and upper parts as mid grey, so maybe not so much blue. Many online images show a similar colour to mine. In any case I'll go back and take another look. Cheers.
I really dig the meal Paul! I wish the oof vegetation wasn't so close to the head, but nothing you can do about that. Colors look good to me, but I don't know the species.
Thanks Kurt...agree with the oof vegetation issue. Cheers.
Nice juicy meal here, and good forest habitat (or urban treed environment?). Good comp, nice colours. A bit of blending in extreme upper left corner needed to hide what may be processing work there near the tail tip. Otherwise, neat stuff!
Thanks so much Daniel. Will take a closer look at the upper left corner.
The feather detail is so good, Paul. I don't mind the head angle as the bird is focused on the prey. Leaf to the right is a bit distracting, but the moss on the log is great. Agree about doing a bit of blending in the upper left. Nicely done.
Hi Dorian. I went back and fixed up the upper left section. Thanks so much for the feedback.
