    Default Silvery Grebe (Chile)

Nothing earth-shattering here, just a standard shot of a bird that recalls Eared Grebe, though this is the bird's breeding plumage (versus the EAGR winter plumage). I like how the red eye cracks in the grayscale surrounds.

This photo was taken at 14,700 feet, a few miles above the town of Putre which I mentioned yesterday. And let me tell you - hauling my **** around for even five minutes at that elevation left me, a seasoned long-distance
cyclist, completely winded! Shooting this high is only for the physically able.....

Great Photo and details look great. Love the gray background what was the reason for the gray. Just cloudy? I have been only once at that elevation and for me I didn't know if I was going to get out of the parking lot. TFS

Lovely image Dorian! Great detail and techs are terrific. I agree with you about that elevation. Shot many times at 14K on Mt Evans and it winds the **** out of you if you're hiking around.

A real sweet shot Dorian. You are right, the sort of monochromatic effect with the red eye is just outstanding.

Great pov with a little wake virtually eliminated the reflection.

Perhaps you could do a little massaging with some channel blending (not too hard really) to texture the whites in the neck but no matter, a pleasure to view regardless.

Hope you're continuing to enjoy the R5.
