As you can see from my settings it wasn't the best of conditions....But, when the birds are about, one has to go out.....The slow SS captured the rain, which was drizzly, blowing about the place(dreich).....and I knew I would be taking a chance, as the bird was swimming fast ..I got a few before he changed direction and flew off....I liked the wave he created here....I'm still getting used to processing at high(for me) ISOs, but I am sure I will get there...HH...This is about 60% of the original...ACR, Topaz DN and PS....

I hope everyone had a Happy Hogmanay and a peaceful New Years Day, and aw the best fur the year aheed...

Man it's head looks huge. I do like that bow wake and the rain. Must of had a low ceiling that day.

Hi Will ... love the large head and the large bow wave !!

Might be an optical illusion but does the image need some rotation ???
    Comp works well .
From the processing POV you can get cleaner output from the kit , IMHO . Overall I might go at least 1/2 stop brighter from the dark to the mid tones .

Happy new year to you Will and TFS

Those were tough conditions indeed. Image looks darkish, and lacks the fine detail you surely would like to see as well. I love the mood though, and yes that bow wave is rather impressive! Goldeneyes are very skittish here too, so its always a treat when one comes close. All the best to you and yours for 2022...looking forward to what the new year brings for you bird photography-wise!

Nice work, love the bow wake. Processing looks good to me. Thank you for sharing, Will.
