Hi Ken,
I like the focused, alert, head-up pose and the BG. Good sharpness as well. Looks a little bright and in need of a slight boost in contrast on my monitor.

Nice pose with the ears up. Looks a bit soft on my monitor. Also I feel that brining down the brightness a bit & boosting the contrast could add a punch to the image.
I just tried some PS editing on the image. Here's the result:
Cropped, reduced brightness, increased contrast, saturation & added a round of smart sharpen (Amount=90, Radius=0.3)

No problem with changing my images, that is what I joined this site for!
The repost is different, but is to my mind too dark and saturated, the dog itself would very rarely be these richer colours.
I think you are right about the sharpening, I forgot as I nearly always do to sharpen after conversion to JPEG.
