    An Eared Grebe unprocessed from late spring this year. Yes to body angle slightly away but the head turn seemed to make it for me.

    LR and PS as well as Neat Image for NR. Cloned two bright water spots on the face, extra catchlight and one small bubble in the water.

    Brian:

    Great POV, eye contact, slight body turn not an issue with this head turn, still engaging.

    If you had time, I would have traded a bit of shutter speed for more DOF, but very effective as is.

    Looks absolutely spot on to me, the grebe is beautifully rendered all the details are clearly shown. The eye is just amazing. The water blends ideally into the background. A real pleasure to view.

    Hi Brian, good HA, and that makes up for the 'lack' of body position. Love the detail around the head, and red eye. Killer pastel BG.

    That red eye really pops. I do like the low angle and that golden water.
