Hi Chuck, welcome to BPN and thank you for the membership support!

Quite a regal look on this eagle - it looks rather imposing up there. Good looking whites on those head feathers. They eye looks good with that catchlight. The steep angle is not usually best - one way to remedy this is to put on your longest lens and step back...this reduces the angle of inclination. Another thing to look out for is clipped parts, such as the tail here. Zooming out (or backing up), or going vertical here in this case (if this was an original horizontal) would have helped here. P.S.: It helps us critique and give suggestions if you indicate the gear and settings used.

Tough situation you had with this subject, but looks like you have cooperative ones to work with...so that's a great excuse to keep on going out! Looking forward to more from you!

    Hi Chuck and welcome!

Daniel gave some great feedback above. Baldies are so regal and this perch and pose accentuate this characteristic so nice job there!

I see your use of vignetting and it works okay here especially to try to minimize the distraction of surrounding branches coming into view.

It appears as though you did some cloning work near the subjects right wing? One can see the small circle cutouts there. Maybe do a youtube search of the "content aware cloning" utilizing the lasso tool or using the stamp brush for some simple, but effective techniques.

    Keep em coming!

Always great to have time with an eagle. Hope to see some more.

Howdy, Chuck. Welcome to BPN and thanks a stack for your membership support -- it is greatly appreciated. Great suggestions above by two of our best, Dan and Sump Scores. You are posting way too small. This one is only 800 X 571 pixels. You can post 1920 pixels on the long side with the file being less than 595 KB. In addition to the great suggestions above, try to avoid shooting in filtered light with part of the subject lit by the sun and part in the shade.

    with love, artie
