Hi Jon ... not easy to decide , what is more attractive .... perch or bird ???!!!
Such a cool perch with those tree fungus .
Very nice overall autumn feeling created by some good processing , Jon .

Overall a pleasing peach as posted .

Jon, a real gem. All those textures, mushrooms (?) lichen, etc all add to this.

Don't forget those bkg colors, wow and.... oh yeah, a super sharp and crisp subject. Wood on the beak too?

It's hard to nit anything here, but if I had my druthers I would suggest a 5x7 or perhaps 4x5 with more room left of the subject and potentially a bit off the bottom (ie. crop just at or above that bottom knot). You may not need to have less at bottom, could exchange for more at right.

A joy to view, thanks Jon.

Lots of goodies to view here, including colours. Beautiful setup and nicely photographed / processed.

Snazzy. I don't know what I like more the perch or the woodpecker.

I think that this is your best-ever bird. I am fine with the framing as presented but I am sure that there are lots of other options.

Was there bait on the perch tree?

    with love, artie

ps: did you set the perch up?

Glad you liked it Artie, yes mentioned, it was in my back yard, a set up, the woodpecker was coming to a feeder so I placed this piece of log in the usual flight path. I put a little suet/fat in some of the holes and cracks so it spotted this had a quick nibble and then went to the feeder.

Hi Jon, excellent IQ and light here. The Woodpecker is nice and sharp, good angled pose, and overall well exposed. Lots to look at on your perch. Your images with your gear are amazing.
