Dottie and I went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge this morning. Driving along Blackpoint Wildlife Drive I photographed this Snowy Egret. This pose brought to mind the bird saying... Ohhh Really your taking my picture. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

I really like the pose and the bird does seem to have a slightly indignant aspect I agree!.
Exposure and colours look very good.
It might be worthwhile pulling down the brightest highlights a fraction, they are not over exposed but I think you will reveal even more detail in the plumage - and in the yellows, you may disagree but worth a look.

Hi Joe ... the subject does look as bored as one could look ... when being bored .
I do like the overall the overall color and tonal range , the whites do look very good to me .
Nice detail shown and rendered .... would look even better with lower sharpening , IMHO .
Why Sharpen AI ???? I do not think you needed hat extra added sharpness .... at this super fast SS .
    As a personal pref I would reduce the blue/cyans a bit ...

Hi Andreas, I think you are right regarding using Sharpen AI. I am still evaluating that software and when to use it. I believe if a image is in focus, without motion blur, Sharpen AI looks for things to correct. The software doesn't have a setting for sharpening in focus, without motion blur, images. I actually liked the image I will post here better which is sharpened using Lightroom. I thought the one using Sharpen AI appeared over sharpened especially on the chest feathers. What do you think?

I was wondering about the title before I clicked n the thumbnail, and once I saw the bigger image I let out an audible chuckle! Good BG, the whites look good to me, and of course the bird's expression is priceless. Sharpening: I think the finer feathers look better in the repost.

Joe, fantastic capture. I love the sleepy look and even a little of the plumage coming over the eye.

Beautiful feather detail. Great, rich green bkg.

Personally I like the rp a lot! You could maybe selectively pull out a little blue in the fringe feathers on the back and chest, otherwise very nice Snowy!

    Joe:

    Another strong vote for #2!

I had the sense that the bird was a fashion model and unhappy having its picture taken when the feathers weren't just right!!
