The Eider have now returned to my hometown to spend the winter months....I captured this one at low tide.. hidden behind a cam net, sitting in amongst the rocks.....HH...ACR and PS2022...This is about 70% of the original.

Pretty much ideal Will, the subtle colouration of the plumage is well shown, the seaweed creates a pleasing composition, focus/DOF is very good. Details in the plumage both dark and bright are clearly visible.

Great bird in a beautiful habitat overall. I'm not overly thrilled with the larger background "boulder" at right, but not an image killer. Have fun with these guys this winter!

    Will, I like this one!

The composition whets my palette, I do like the way the boulder frames the subject. It's maybe slightly distracting but a nice look inside the habitat.

The kelp is so interesting there and adds to the frame IMO. Nicely exposed and processed!

Hi Will, I like the Eider and the rock with seaweed perch. I agree the out of focus rock in unfortunate. Interesting bird I have only seen pictures of. Thank you for sharing.

I like the setting here with all the seaweed. A nice alert pose as well.
