This image was created on 1 December 2021 at Westhampton Beach, LI, NY. While standing at full height, I used the no-longer available GIT304L Grand Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod/Levered-Clamp FlexShooter Pro-mounted-Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM OSS lens, the Sony FE 2.0x Teleconverter, and The One, the Sony Alpha 1 Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only). ISO 500. The exposure was determined by Zebras with ISO on the rear wheel: 1/1000 sec. at f/8 (wide open) in Manual mode. AWB at 9:07am on a sunny morning. Tracking: Spot S AF-C with Bird-Eye/Face Detection performed perfectly.

As for the image, don't be shy. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

I like it as presented, but I think highlights are too high. If lowered detail would be better rendered. (There is a small amount of clipping).

Looks stoned! I really like the simple color palette; the eyes really crack on the sand. Getting catchlight in both eyes really makes this shot sing. I like the wide-ish comp as well. Exposure looks pretty good to me. If anything, I might bump the blacks
for a bit more contrast. That would make things a bit more dramatic if it didn't grossly alter the scene/bird as you observed it.

Of course its excellent for all the reasons above and the white line variation in the sand helps with the background. Not sure why the sand on the right hand side of the bird is more out of focus than on the left as it is the same distance from the lens.

Thanks, Ian. I think that that must be an optical illusion, possibly because the light is slightly from the right, or possibly due to the white slash in the sand ... I did nothing to the sand (other than to run DeNoise on the entire image ...)

Just the fact that you shot a Snowy is good enough for me. But the simplicity in the sand and the way the neutral tones work together is awesome.

Really nice choice of composition, it just sings offset like that. Nice and sharp, not much I'd change personally Artie.

Love to get up there and shoot them with you some time...
