This accommodating subject allowed for fun close-ups of this normally skittish species. I was more than happy to create a few nice portraits....

P.S. Every post of mine of late comes with a louder and louder drumroll...... You will soon see why....

Hi Dan, nice capture, I like the strong contrast between subject and the subtle water and smooth bow wave, the high key backdrop really adds to the standout. The detail/form within the head are pretty cool, as the plumage rolls and dips, but I wonder was this slightly lifted, or just the ISO of the 7D2 & sharpening. OK, viewing on the laptop so it could be the screen, but to me it just seems a little coarse, so that might be the a slight clash of Contrast/sharpening.

Not sure about the drum roll Dan, I think more of a fly by, by the Snowbirds.

I like it Dan good angle, I feel the mid tones could a little richer, just a little more pop needed for me.

Super portrait of this gal. I've never been able to get so close to this species. I can hear Steve's 'coarse' comment but think the plumage still looks really good. High key and low angle really make this crack.

Hi Daniel ... cool portrait .
I do like the HK effect and the bow wave .
Nice tones and overall good color rendering , detail is on the " border " of being crunchy ..... here on my screen .

    Cool shot and TFS
