Hi folks .... just a simple shot .
Nothing to win a prize in a competition .
Shot taken during my tests with the R3 .... but the image taken with the 1Dx III .
Whenever it rained " heavy" I swapped the body's ... did not want to flood the new toy in the first days . I know what the 1Dx series can stand in terms of weather conditions .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

Hi Andreas, perhaps not the best of times to test, but I guess you need to start somewhere to find your feet, albeit the same perch as the squirrel, but a better BKG.

Being slightly above rather than at eye level can't say which is best, so happy to leave that for the more experience Avian bods, but I do like the HA, did you work on the eye? Saying that, going lower I think may have lost the clump of snow at the back which I find a little ugly, but also I would just cleaned up a few of the spots on the log. Personally being so close I'm not a lover of the very short DoF, but techs were not so in your favour. For me, being so close I would have liked a bot more in focus, but that's just my taste.

Andreas, colours and details very good, the angle of the bird is not ideal for me and whilst I often say I am not bothered about a perfect DOF I do feel it is a little limited. I quite like the perch and snow with the exception of the lump of OOF ice at the back.

Thanks Jon and Steve for your comments .
I do agree with your " reservations " for the most part .
Image was just taken as a side product while shooting the Squirrels , no excuse just a fact .

    Cheers Andreas
