    Waited lying down near burrow entrance for a few before this beauty emerged just before sundown. Close to MFD.

    David, seems like you were quite close here!?

    The eyes are pretty sharp and the yellow, well of course they draw our attention well. Do like the blurred grasses in the FG and colors are nice but I think the dof fall off hurts this one a bit.

    Otherwise I think it could benefit from a wider crop and it just feels a bit too snug.

    My immediate thought was wow pretty close! I appreciate you aimed for a tight composition, so I think you certainly have a pretty full frame. With it being so close I feel the eyes need to be staring directly at the observer to have best impact. Apart from that I think colours and details look very good. If it was practicable for me I would be back there pretty often!

    I think this one would have been great zoomed out a bit more, or the lens pointed a couple of inches to your left if kept at that size in the frame. I love the details though, and the grumpy look too. Such caracters!
