Hi folks ... still old files to view .
At least here in Germany .... Mr Covid is badly back , any plans from my side cancelled till spring .

Image taken in the Netherlands at Kraansvlak Game reserve .
Was a completely misty afternoon , within half an hour from decent sunny autumn light to dense fog .
Almost stumbled over the Bison in the dense fog ....

Noise level was very high in this image , the low flat light made it even worse to deal with ....but I love these challenges .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
    HH

    F 8 ; Iso 16.000 ; 1/ 2500 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 ; slightly cropped and canvas added .
Just for fun .... in #2 the image as shot .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

BTW not even 38 hours to wait .... for me and my new toy . Received today notification for my pick up time slot .... . I am kinda excited .....

Excellent job, I suspect it took some patience to get the result you did - well done.

Thanks Jon .... much appreciated .
Well this is not possible with some sort of AI / Preset / One Click action .... ...... IMHO . But is fun to develop such output .

Hi Andreas, yes I remember this, Bison are always photographic, but in the snow they just go off the scale.

Perhaps a little pushed for me, but it gives them character. I think the white in the nose could be controlled a bit more so it's not so 'white' as per the camera output, but... Still good to see another species.

It's not right, but interesting to see what you can get from the 'shot from camera.... with minimal data

Some folks do not even need the raw master file to create something decent .... for the most part .... and you are one of them

For years I am waiting now for snow and the time on my side to photograph them in snow !!!!!!!!

It would be Foxes and Bisons in snow .... just a few kilometers apart . Could be all done in one day ... if the Bisons show up .

Regarding my OP ... indeed I pushed it a bit .

If the capture is well exposed who need 50MB files????

Gentlemen, I like both versions Steve's is more 'natural' with some lovely fine detail, and yours Andreas a little bit on the 'arty' side, rich and with lots of punch.

Love the pose here, very much. I am a great fan of tight portraits so this is right my alley. Nice smooth background and the bison a super frame filler, great colours too, wonderful work!

    Kind regards,

What a subject Andreas , and your PP skills are just too good . Loved the in your face framing and fantastic details inspite of such challenging conditions .

    Clap Clap, brilliantly done.

@ Steve -- you just are too good loved your RP as well.

    TFS !
