    Default Wetland marauder...

    Attached Images Attached Images

EOS R6 Rf 100-500 @500 f7.1 1/800 ISO 200 Manual EXP, HH, slight crop for composition

Was riding along the main road in ENP when this beauty was spotted hunting lizards and frogs on the wetland vegetation. It was mid afternoon with slightly harsh light as this hunter worked next to a crypress stand that shadowed the flora while leaving the subject in full later afternoon light.Had to get out of the car and sit on roadside berm to lower the angle some. Removed small amount of brighter vegetation in FG at the bottom of frame with content aware fill. The Bg is busy but very representative wetland vegetation.

Thanks, as always for valued inputs on previous posts.

The Bid leaf at least mimics the bill so the BG does serve a purpose.... I would sharpen the bird some more.
Closeups need to be tack sharp.

It looks pretty sharp from here. Nice head angle but not a big fan of the BKGR.

Looks sharp here on the iMac David....I don't mind the BG...sort of 3D look about it. Nice pose and i like the 'angry' eye..

Excellent detail and exposure, David! Composition works very well. I'd prefer a smoother BG, but you didn't have anywhere to go from f/7.1 at 500mm.

David I think this is super, really well exposed tones look very good and the detail is particularly good, sharpening looks good to me, in fact I would even considering lowering a little especially on the left of the neck.
