Around four of these Cockatoos were perched up high but amongst lots of leaves/branches etc...so getting a clear view was not going to happen, despite spending quite a while with them...hence the head shot. This species, although fairly common was a lifer for me (other than seen in a zoo), so I'm happy.

Hi Paul, Fantastic details on this beauty. BTW, I loved the osprey and the BG was different with the distance layers in BG added a great feeling of depth (3D like in fact). Only minor nit is the steep up angle on this one. TFS

    That eye...

Hi Volkan: Thank you for the kind feedback.
David: Thanks so much for the feedback and Osprey comment...yes to the background feel. The steep angle is not the best, I agree. Cheers.

Lighting, exposure, and details look great, but -- as others have said -- the shooting angle is a big problem here. I think you made the best image given the situation, so that's all you can ask for without the ability to get higher.

Hi Dorian: Yes, it's definitely "looking down on me" Must admit though, I don't think it's as much of an issue as you make out, as it's definitely "communicating with me" (eye contact)

Hi Paul, the eye is actually looking way above the viewer and beyond, not slightly down towards the viewer so sadly I can't see the contact.

DATPCA. Nicely processed as the YELLOWs look perfect.

The barely visible end of the bill looks to be a mess ...

Steve: Agree, but I'm still ok with it as is.
Artie: yes to the bill...but that's how it is...I guess I could use some "bill doctor work"

  10. Thanks Arthur Morris thanked for this post
