I like it too for the same reasons as Artie. The squarish crop works well here.

Really nice, David! Exposure and details are excellent, and the head angle is perfect. The big beak can make for a compositional challenge, but I think you nailed it. Slightly-elevated shooting angle gives him a larger-than-life personality here.
