This is a stunner and processing is spot-on. I love the placement of the shadow on the far wing. The BKGR is loverly and the underwing detail is superb.

    Will,

I really love this picture. I actually envy you. I have been using 500F4 for a couple of years and I have not been able to make a single good in flight photo.

I just became a member in BPN. I am hopeful that I can learn much more from this website and from you all and one day create a great in flight picture.

    Artie @Arthur Morris , I am finally in ... Need your blessings !! :-)

    Thank you

Hi Will ... super cool frame .
All does look very good , with pleasing colors , good tonal range ... nice composition .

Just a question and critique at the same time ..... what kind of special sharpening have you used in the subject ??? Whatever it is ( not easy to guess in todays world) I would reduce it .

Pretty much a perfect pose. The red bill and legs stand out nicely. The catchlight is a bit funky to me - I would repair it by removing what appears to be a second, lower catchlight. I am seeing what Andreas is talking about (I think)...some sort of fine speckling throughout the feathers (not the water drops on the tail). Appears sharp as can be otherwise though.

Yeah, this is a really striking image! Pose is great, and I like the look of intensity on the bird's face. Catchlight needs a bit of cleanup, and second comments regarding the sharpening. The bird looks a bit 'crunchy', especially where the shadow is cast on the right wing. Love the dangling feet!
